Andrew Mayes, Principal

As BAUaccounting founder and owner, Andrew has over 10 years experience working with all types of organisations. He recognised early on that compliance and business administration is a necessary evil, and for a relative fraction of the cost to you, can be better managed externally.

Andrew’s experience has been developed from his work in public accounting, through his close work with small businesses tax and accounting, became a specialist in MYOB setups and the once ominous GST. Andrew’s public accounting experience culminated in role with KPMG auditing some of Australia’s largest companies Perpetual Trustees and St George Bank.

Following his interest in the Property Industry first worked for a property developer running all aspects of accounting, building strip retail shops. Most recently Andrew was Financial Controller of Bovis Lend Lease, construction subsidiary of Lend Lease, one of Australia’s leading property groups. The commercial experience gained on the “other side of the fence”, allows Andrew to bring a complete and rounded view to accounting and tax issues.

Andrew also heads up our performance management offering, and is able to analyse, set up and maintain systems for tracking your Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to improve reporting and manage and the critical drivers of your business.

Sanjay Khakhar, Tax Principal

Please welcome Mr Sanjay Khakhar to the BAU team. Sanjay is our tax partner and will be focusing on our client’s tax needs. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a tax agent.

Sanjay has over 10 years of work experience in Taxation, Accounting and Audit fields. The last 3 years of his experience was spent focusing on all aspects of Small to Medium Enterprises developing specialised and valuable taxation strategies.
